Fitting in at the New School

Wednesday was takeaway night at SBH's school. The PTA provided juice and wine. That's right, wine! The PTA: Parent Teacher Association. We were shocked! Wine at school. But after a few glasses of chardonnay we loosened up and enjoyed ourselves. The kids sang a maori song and the new kids were recognized and given tote bags and a book. They gave SBH a book about bugs and other creepy crawlies. Insects, by the way, must have 6 legs and 3 body parts: a head, thorax, and abdomen. Despite similar creepiness, millipedes are not insects. Neither is Newt Gingerich. As you can see by this photograph, SBH fits right in.

Port Nicholson Royal Yacht Club Annual Regatta

This was my first taste of keelboat racing. Winds gusted to 35 knots. Dinghies capsize in 25 knots. Keelboats are like Weeble Wobbles with handles.
